Update Note: Though the appearance of Arcus has changed slightly since the images below were taken, the steps outlined here are still accurate as of 9/3/21. -SY
When adding a carrier to a load, some of the time you will have used the carrier in the past and they will be an existing carrier within ARCUS and have a carrier number attached. Other times they have not been used before and will need to be added to ARCUS.
To begin the process, after you have entered an Order and have begun to create a Load. You will need to search for the Carrier in the “Carrier Information” block of the Load Entry screen.
When you begin to enter information into the Carrier Search box, ARCUS will begin searching different database fields for Carriers that match the criteria. Different fields that are searched include the Carrier Number, Name, Address, City, State, MC Number and DOT Number. Entering any of these pieces of information will help narrow down your search to find the Carrier that you are searching for.
Once the search is performed, you will either find the Carrier you were searching for in the system or you will find that you need to add the Carrier to ARCUS.
Existing Carrier
- If an existing carrier is found matching the information that you entered into the search box, they will appear in a list.
Carriers found are shown and differentiated by colors depending on any restrictions they may have.
Color | Restrictions |
---|---|
White | No restrictions |
Yellow | Insurance expired, can be added but current insurance needs to be verified by the broker/agent |
Red | Cannot be added to the load, carrier needs to contact the Compliance Department to lift the restrictions. |
- Once the carrier is located, click on them to add them to the Load.
New Carrier
When a carrier has not been previously used, they will need to be added to the system.
- To begin, click the “+” button in the Carrier Information block.
- This pulls up the “Add New Carrier” popup window. Select if the search is by MC Number or DOT Number and enter the information into the space provided.
Click “Find Carrier” button.
- Information about the Carrier is pulled from the “Saferwatch” database. This information can be used for preliminary vetting.
- When all questions are satisfactorily answered, click the “+ Add New Carrier” button.
- A confirmation popup appears asking if the user has verified the carrier has current insurance.
- If insurance has been verified, click in the boxes to add a check and click the “Save” button.
- The Carrier is now assigned a Carrier Number and added to the Load. (The Carrier Compliance Department will follow up with the Carrier to complete the verification process.)
